The number of people in the UK with mental health issues has increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to research by the UK’s Centre for Mental Health, a staggering 10 million people – almost 20 percent of the population – will need either new or extra help as a direct consequence of the crisis. Of those, 1.5 million are children and teenagers, those worst affected are from disadvantaged backgrounds and discriminated against communities.
