Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Councils use ‘cover of COVID’ to cancel Australia day” – below is their description.
Sky News host Paul Murray says despite the fact in New South Wales they have had two full weeks without a single case of community transmission, the “cover of COVID” is currently being used to “cancel Australia day”. “The cover of covid has been used by lots of people who have fiddle with things that will have way longer impacts than what happened when it came to this virus,” Mr Murray said. “January next year, we’re almost toward the end of November after two weeks of no cases, in a state that has contact tracing that can get on top of dozens of cases, local councils are using coronavirus as the reason why ‘we won’t have any public celebrations of Australia day next year’. ‘Canterbury Bankstown is doing it, Liverpool council is doing it and even The Hills council is doing it.”
