‘All down to interpretation’: Gladys Berejiklian breaches isolation rules

Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “‘All down to interpretation’: Gladys Berejiklian breaches isolation rules” – below is their description.

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has denied she breached health guidelines despite not isolating during a COVID-19 test like thousands every day. “There are roughly 10,000 people a day in NSW who isolate because they’ve taken a test, these are people who have to miss work, they miss picking their children up from school, they are unable to see friends and family while they isolate,” Mr Clennell said. Ms Berejiklian said her rule-breaking was “all down to interpretation”. Her, the state’s chief health officer and the health minister have all ordered people to remain in isolation no matter how mild their symptoms are until a negative test result is received. “Fortunately, the test came back in a couple of hours and it was negative,” she said Tuesday morning. “I did act in those two hours as though it was normal, I didn’t take any extra precautions apart from the normal social distancing I always do, and anyone who comes to my office, has anything to do with me, knows how fussy I am with all of that. “So they’re the facts, and I’ll let others judge that.” “If I was an ordinary citizen, I wouldn’t have had any symptoms so I wouldn’t have taken the test.”
