Fans of Superman are already familiar with Jon Kent – the son of Lois and Clark. Yesterday in the US it was revealed his character is bisexual and romantically involved with reporter Jay Nakamura.

Writer of the comic book, Tom Taylor, says that the reaction has been mostly positive. Comparative Literary Studies Professor at Warwick University, Dr Ross Forman, says it shows how far representation has come.
