Sky News published this video item, entitled “Sir Chris Bryant announces Labour Party plans to increase mental health staff” – below is their description.
Labour shadow culture minister Sir Chris Bryant has told Sky News more about the party’s plans to tackle rising suicide rates.
He said that when he was a curate in a church in High Wycombe, he “had to do the funerals for quite a large number of young kids who’d taken their own lives”.
Sir Chris explained that Labour will “employ an extra 8,500 people in mental health staff in the NHS in England,” if they were to get into government.
Anyone feeling emotionally distressed or suicidal can call Samaritans for help on 116 123 or email jo@samaritans.org in the UK. In the US, call the Samaritans branch in your area or 1 (800) 273-TALK.
