DW News published this video item, entitled “Scholz in China: Press conference with Li Keqiang” – below is their description.
Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz is in China for talks with Chinese officials.
Overshadowing Scholz’s visit is criticism of China’s tacit support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and controversy over economic and human rights issues. Scholz, who is travelling with several top business leaders, faces calls to reduce Germany’s over-dependence on its biggest trading partner. Allies like France and the US are critical of the visit. And even his own coalition partners are warning against becoming too close to authoritarian regimes.
