Red House: Artist presents White House filled with real American blood

RT published this video item, entitled “Red House: Artist presents White House filled with real American blood” – below is their description.

On the day of the US Presidential Elections results, a/political presents The White House Filled with American Blood, a new video by controversial artist Andrei Molodkin. To create the work, Andrei used real blood, donated by US citizens, and pumped it around a sculpture of the home of the US Presidency. The White House was built as a symbol of power and stability, professing to embody democratic values. Now the pure white is diluted by the blood of Americans, staining the image with the turmoil of our recent years and a future marred by a prevailing threat of violence. Andrei Molodkin “No matter who wins, both candidates embody the same blood-soaked system. A regime built on slavery, murder and the toppling of democratically elected governments. The future of America will be built on the blood of its citizens.” The video will be installed in collaboration with CulturalDC in Washington D.C. (Nov-Dec) Andrei Molodkin is a Russian artist that works in the medium of blood and oil. Andrei has previously collaborated with Supreme on a T-shirt print featuring Donald Trump that sold for $8,600. In 2009 Andrei Molodkin represented his country in the Russian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. His large-scale installation ‘Liquid Modernity’, 2009 entered the Tate Collection, UK in 2012.
