Sky News Australia published this video item, entitled “Premiers keeping borders shut ‘purely for political reasons'” – below is their description.
Former Liberal MP Fiona Scott says there is just no case for these state premiers to leave the borders closed, and they are doing so for political reasons. “Politically advantageous for themselves,” Ms Scott told Sky News. “And that’s not good for all Australians.” Queensland currently has 13 active cases of COVID-19 which is one less active case than New South Wales. Western Australia has 23 active cases. “Yet those two states still have their borders closed to states like New South Wales and Victoria that have less cases than them,” Ms Scott said. “This is the absurdity of what’s going on around our country.”
