May 2020 confirmed as driest on record

The Met Office has confirmed May was the driest ever on record in England, with just 9.6 millimetres of rain falling across the nation.

Meteorologists say the statistics are truly exceptional, but it’s raised questions about what impact those temperatures might have on water supplies.
