Last weekend’s attacks by Hamas on Israeli residents continue to uncover new atrocities, as more recovery operations take place in the hardest-hit villages. The death toll on both sides of this conflict has now exceeded 2,500, as a global effort to get hostages released continues and evacuation flights with foreign nationals begin to bring people home.
“Hamas should be treated exactly the way ISIS was treated. They should be spit out from the community of nations,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said during a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is visiting Tel Aviv as part of a multi-country Middle East tour.
Meanwhile, Blinken said during his visit to Tel Aviv that “Israel has the right and indeed the obligation to defend itself and ensure that this never happens again. As the Prime Minister and I discussed, how Israel does this, matters.”
