DW News published this video item, entitled “Germany looks to Colombia in shift away from Russian energy | DW News” – below is their description.
In an attempt to reduce Germany’s reliance on Russian energy imports , representatives of the German industry are visiting Colombia to discuss how they can collaborate with South America’s biggest exporter of coal. One of the places where this coal is mined is El Cerrejon, the biggest open-cast coal mine in Latin America, and one of the biggest in the world. Its poor environmental and human rights standards have earned it the nickname “The Monster.”
