Former Australian Senator Cory Bernardi says he believes former US National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn was “set up” by the FBI, following President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon him, after allegations of Russian collusion in 2016. “Comey sent in a couple of FBI agents originally to question him without the Department of Justice’s approval. They caught him in a misleading response and they prosecuted him and they’ve even admitted since there was no basis to charge him,” he said. “In the end, he was charged with lying to the FBI, and by-crikey, the FBI should be charged with lying to themselves because they’ve told so many stories under Comey and Mueller. “And remember, this Russian collusion was all made up – manufactured by Hillary Clinton – and gone on and perpetuated by the media, the Democrats, Obama and others.”
