Sky News host Peter Gleeson says finally there is some sanity in Queensland following the announcement that the state’s border is to be opened up to Victoria and the whole of New South Wales. “This is a welcome relief for tourism operators, many of whom have sadly had to close their businesses for good because of the COVID crisis,” Mr Gleeson said. “What is clear about this pandemic is that the advice relied upon by the government has been ad hoc and somewhat inconsistent. “For the thousands of tourism businesses going under because of the border bans it’s a tough thing to swallow. “Anyway, the good news is the borders are re-opened from December 1. Let’s hope they remain open,” he said.
