The Telegraph reports that not all British people took the UK Government’s advice to stay away from pubs and clubs, for Covid-19:
Britons in the UK and abroad seem to be ignoring the latest government advice on avoiding social gatherings.
Earlier in the week the prime minister encouraged the public to stay away from pubs, clubs and theatres as the country works to deal with the new coronavirus outbreak.
Revellers in Birmingham appeared to turn a blind eye to the latest advice as they hit the pubs and clubs to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
Over in Benidorm, British tourists disregarded Spanish quarantine restrictions as they aimed to make the most of their holidays.

As the UK did not enforce any kind of ban, nor did they forcibly close pubs and theatres in the country – a move which was bemoaned by these industries, because it meant they could not claim on their business insurance for enforced closure – it is peculiar that British people are being criticised for failing to do what their leaders also did not do.
Had people been quarantined by an act of law, more than just social censure would have applied.
The quarantine restrictions in Spain are legally enforceable, however, as one British woman in Tenerife discovered when she was arrested earlier this week.
