    US President Joe Biden reiterated his commitment to security for Israel whilst also stating that a two-state solution is “the only answer” to securing peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

    His statement came on the first whole day of ceasefire after 11 days of missile exchanges between Hamas and Israeli forces.

    Biden called the ceasefire a “genuine opportunity” to make progress towards the long-term goal of achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
