Caitlin Sanchez, the 14 year old actress who provided the voice of children’s cartoon hit series “Dora the Explorer” between 2008 and 2010 is to sue US television network Nickelodeon over a pay dispute.

Sanchez claims she has not been paid royalties relating to sales of DVDs, promotional work and re-runs of the show.

The actress has been replaced this year. In a statement, Nickelodeon claimed this was because Sanchez’ “voice changed” though, in her legal action, the teen claims that she was given just 22 minutes to sign a contract described as “unconscionable”.

The action also claims that Sanchez is owed “many million dollars” and names Nickelodeon, MTV Networks and Viacom as co-defendants.

Sanchez replaced the previous Dora, Kathleen Hurles, who voiced the popular Hispanic character between 2002 and 2006.
