RT published this video item, entitled “Twitter just falsely Russia-shamed an Indy French newspaper | #PollyBites” – below is their description.
A French monthly newspaper called Ruptures stands accused of being ‘Russian state-affiliated media’ on Twitter, through the social media giant’s new labeling system which suppresses content deemed to be from (selective) ‘state-affiliated media’ (cough cough, Russia and China). Twitter won’t reply to the (fiercely independent) newspaper’s requests to take the false and slanderous label down. It would all be kind of funny, if it wasn’t for the fact that a big, private entity nominated itself as an arbiter of truth, and then made a glaring error, which it’s so far refusing to fix. Polly Boiko spoke to Laurent Dauré, a journalist working at Ruptures, to find out what could be behind this bizarre story.
