In this video feature, Zhanna Sharipova from Anytype introduces the concept, saying “Anytype is an operating system for the new internet,”

“In the current internet, it’s built on the client / server architecture, so when I want to send a message to you, even though you are in the same room, this message goes from me, to a server on the other side of the world, and then back to you – and the server can read everything.”

“[This is] the same with files that we store, documents we collaborate on, our photos – the intermediary can access everything.”

“[Additionally,] this intermediary closes everything, so you can’t leave. Try to get your data from Facebook, it’s almost impossible.”

“That’s the reason you can’t use data from one app in another. The new internet is different.”

“There’s no server, no intermediary, no-one can access our data.”

“Because you and I now own our data, we can use it across apps.”

She asserted that “I think the majority of users are not ready to exchange user experience for privacy. That’s why Anytype is different.”

“It is not just messaging – it’s a variety of apps… your team have your own internet, in a way [using Anytype OS].”
