When France SHOCKED the All Blacks | That Game When

Rugby World Cup published this video item, entitled “When France SHOCKED the All Blacks | That Game When” – below is their description.

In the semi-final of Rugby World Cup 1999, France came up against New Zealand. Very few gave Les Bleus a chance, with the All Blacks being over-whelming favourites, not just for the game but for the whole tournament!

After a tough first half, France cut loose in the second 40 and against all the odds managed a famous comeback, overturning a 24–10 deficit to win 43–31 in an all-time classic! A key part of the midfield in that match was Émile Ntamack, who reminisces on the encounter with his friend Philippe Bernat-Salles about the game and their feelings as Bernat-Salles sprinted past everyone to dot down to score ultimately the winning try in the game.
