Germany won the 2014 World Cup with a final score of 1-0 against Argentina. The final match was played at the Maracana on 13th July 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, following a closing ceremony which featured the singer Shakira. The winning goal was scored by Mario Götze during extra time.
