Man City 1-1 Fulham
Manchester City lost more ground on the teams above and around them in the Premier League as they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Fulham.
City took the lead through a 26th minute goal from Balotelli, who was set up by Carlos Tevez, but, early in the second half, Fulham, who are managed by former City boss, Mark Hughes, took their opportunity to equalise through Duff on 46 minutes.
The point means City remain in third place, but are only three ahead of Tottenham, who have a game in hand. Fulham move to 13th, but are only four points from the relegation zone courtesy of the wins Wolves and West Ham achieved this weekend.
West Ham 3-1 Liverpool
West Ham made a big step towards Premier League survival with a good 3-1 home win over Liverpool.
The Hammers took the lead through Parker on 22 minutes, before doubling the margin on 45 minutes through Ba. Liverpool had hope of a visiting point when Glen Johnson scored on 84 minutes, though this was extinguished when Carlton Cole finished on 90+2 minutes to secure the vital three points.
West Ham are now level on points with Wolves, who are a place above them in safety: they remain in the relegation 18th place courtesy of one goal worse GD record. Liverpool remain 6th, but have now lost a little ground on those above and around them, and may have to put away any faint hope of a Champions League position which had been building since Christmas.
