The Bureau has developed 5 new extreme climate and weather outlook tools providing Australians with more detail on unseasonal rainfall and temperatures for any location in Australia – weeks, months, and seasons ahead.
The tools are free and available on the Bureau’s website.
Tool 1— High resolution maps showing likelihood of unusually cool/warm and unusually dry/wet conditions across all outlook periods.
Tool 2—A location-based bar charts displaying the likelihood of rain/temperature being in each climatological range for individual locations.
Tool 3 — a location-based forecast of rainfall and temperature graphs: weekly and monthly forecasts as a time series for any grid point in Australia.
Tool 4 — Graphs displaying the probability range of rainfall amounts for the coming weeks to seasons.
Tool 5 — Rainfall probability maps displaying the likelihood of exceeding 3-day rainfall totals, ranging from 15 mm to 75 mm, in the weeks and fortnights ahead.
