Australia Weather: Flood warning service update for BOM Weather app

Bureau of Meteorology published this video item, entitled “Flood warning service update for BOM Weather app” – below is their description.

We’ve updated the flood warning services in the BOM Weather app.

We’ve made changes to how you receive flood warnings in the app based on how close you are to catchments and catchment boundaries.

You will now see a warning if the location you are currently viewing is within 5 km of a Flood Watch or Flood Warning area.

Previously the app used a 25 km buffer from the Flood Watch or Flood Warning area when issuing warnings to app users.

We’re making this change to ensure you get the information you need, when you need it.

You can also select a location and view the current warnings for that location or view all current state/territory warnings from the app’s Warnings screen. Warnings can also be viewed on the Bureau’s website bom.gov.au.

Download or update the BOM Weather app today.
