Singapore is most likely associated with the financial industry, trade, tourism or its huge port. Maybe even with high-tech companies or vaults where precious metals are kept. But we would certainly never associate the city-state of Singapore with agriculture. In fact less than 1% of its entire territory is occupied by farms.
Now that may be about to change. The Singaporen government has launched an ambitious program to turn this financial center into an agricultural hub.
So, why does the government of one of the most prosperous places in the world want to revive agricultural activity? Does it make sense to do so?
Is it really possible in a city dominated by skyscrapers, international financial headquarters, endless shopping malls and buildings everywhere? Well, in this video we answer all these questions.
