London Fashion Week – Spring Summer 2012 – Womenswear: Corrie Nielsen

Victorian necklines, Edwardian hairstyles and a monochrome colour scheme make for a stark Spring Summer 2012 collection from Corrie Nielsen. Vampish overcoats make the ideal accompaniment to dresses and kimono-style silk wrapping softens architectural shapes. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, Nielsen fuses an Elizabethan anti-hero with a modern Japanese aesthetic. Stern tailoring is spun out into futuristic geometry creating a sharp and restrained elegance.
