The corporate regulator ASIC says some life insurance policies make it so difficult for casual workers to get a payout they are virtually worthless ‘junk insurance’. It is putting insurers on notice to fix the problem before it intervenes, but that’s little comfort for policy holders whose claims have been rejected, leaving them destitute.
