Sky News published this video item, entitled “Women’s Safety: Race, fear, cause and prevention” – below is their description.
Police have arrested a 38-year-old man who is suspected to be involved in the murder of 28-year-old Sabina Nessa. The teacher’s body was found near Kidbrooke community centre.
Reclaim the Streets will hold a vigil in memory of Ms. Nessa. The murder echoes concerns about the stark rise in cases of violence against women and children and the role race has to play in the crimes and media coverage.
Sky discusses Women’s safety with Andrea Simon, Director of the End Violence Against Women, Rosie Lewis, Head of Policy at Imkaan and Dame Vera Baird QC, Victims’ Commissioner for England and Wales.
