ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Why the RBA is tipped to deliver a thirteenth rate rise | The Business | ABC News” – below is their description.
Half an hour before Melbourne Cup, the Reserve Bank board will announce if it’ll raise interest rates for the 13th time this hiking cycle. The RBA has left the cash rate unchanged at 4.1 per cent since June but all big four banks are predicting a 25 basis point rise. A majority of economists polled by Reuters and money markets agree. EY Oceania chief economist Cherelle Murphy says there are a number of pressures building in the economy that suggest the RBA isn’t comfortable with the inflation outlook and will have to slow the economy further.
