Disinfectant wipes, spray and hand sanitizer remain difficult to find in this time of coronavirus, even months after the pandemic struck. Blame supply and demand, and quirks of this industry. How long will shelves remain bare? Manufacturers have struggled to keep up with a demand shock from coronavirus. This is a low margin, usually steady business where factories run at peak production to ensure profit. It’s not a place with much excess production capacity or inventory sitting around.
