This year, global leaders and stakeholders will gather at the World Economic Forum to talk about “rebuilding trust,” which is also the theme of this year’s forum. This year’s forum will also host a large Chinese delegation that will include Chinese Premier Li Qiang. The annual forum offers crucial space to focus on mending trust through transparency and accountability. These are critical to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The forum also seeks to strike a balance between economic growth and ecological sustainability. On the annual forum and its green agenda, Tian Wei talked to Gim Huay Neo, the Managing Director of the Center for Nature and Climate at the World Economic Forum. She acknowledged the momentous task of tackling climate change, especially on the heels of 2023, which was the hottest year on record. She also discussed the WEF’s role as a platform to set up different stakeholders from the public, private and scientific community to collaborate on the climate crisis.
