In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed attended on behalf of the Secretary-General the 35th ordinary session of the Assembly of the African Union.
She also visited some regions of the country and met with senior officials of the Government of Ethiopia, the UN country team, members of the diplomatic community and other stakeholders.
The Deputy Secretary-General visited the Afar region of Ethiopia and pledged continuing UN support in the provision of humanitarian aid and engagement in the development sector.
