“We bring smiles”: Circus comes to Lima for Peru’s Clown Day

Global News published this video item, entitled “”We bring smiles”: Circus comes to Lima for Peru’s Clown Day” – below is their description.

Dancing, jokes and smiles flooded the streets of downtown Lima on Thursday, as clowns marched through the streets to celebrate Peru’s Clown Day.

The colourful participants interacted with spectators lining the streets, sometimes hugging them or just trying to steal a smile.

One clown called Rafito said that clowns “bring joy” in difficult situations.

“When the mood is tense, with politics, when money is not enough, we bring smiles,” Rafito, whose real name is Rafael, said.

A variety of looks were on display, from large coloured jackets and painted faces to those dressed as video game characters such as Mario or Crash Bandicoot.
