A major water main, which burst on Saturday, is still spewing thousands of litres at Lane Cove. Thousands of people across 10 suburbs have been impacted for 2 long days, with Sydney Water under increasing pressure to fix the problem.
7NEWS first received reports about water causing a traffic issue in Lane Cove at 7am on Saturday. Sydney Water says their crews are today at Epping Road in Lane Cove to isolate what they’ve called a ‘complex break.’
Sydney Water says they’ve had to turn off a number of underground valves to locate the main issue that is located somewhere in dense bush.
“Residents are at breaking point. They are sitting at their homes without any information,” Jacky Barker, editor of community news website ‘In The Cove.’
Residents in Artarmon, Chatswood, Cremorne, Greenwich, Lane Cove, Lane Cove West, Neutral Bay, North Sydney, Waverton, Wollstonecraft have been impacted by the issue.
