More than 1,600 air-raid shelters built during World War II in China have been given a new lease in life. The historical bunkers in the Chinese municipality of Chongqing have since been converted into lifestyle venues, such as bookstores, eateries and other tourist attractions. It’s part of efforts to further develop the city, which has become one of China’s most popular travel destinations.
