Victorians in the ‘fight of our lives’ as daily cases hit new record, another three people die

Victoria has recorded 428 new coronavirus cases, the highest daily increase since the pandemic began, and another three people have died from the virus.

Premier Daniel Andrews said a man in his 70s, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 80s had died from coronavirus, bringing the state’s death toll to 32.

One of the people who died was linked to the outbreak at Menarock Life aged care in Essendon.

Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton said the high number of new cases was “a daily tragedy”.
