US troops deployed at Syrian border to prevent Turkish & Kurdish forces clashes

US forces and vehicles were deployed on the Turkish-Syrian border near Darbasiya on Saturday, to monitor the situation after dozens of Kurdish forces were killed in Turkish airstrikes in the region less than a week ago. Turkey’s air force carried out airstrikes targeting Kurdish fighters in Syria and Iraq, killing at least 70 fighters, according to Turkish military. Turkey’s operation ‘Euphrates Shield’ was launched on 24 August 2017 in alliance with the US-led coalition with the stated aim of clearing IS fighters from the Syria-Turkey border.
