Former US President Donald Trump has hit out at a decision to appoint a special counsel to oversee investigations into his handling of classified documents after leaving office.
Jack Smith has been picked to lead the probes which include an inquiry into Trump’s attempt to interfere in the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Smith’s appointment comes just days after Trump announced he will run for president again in 2024.
