Urumqi supermarkets see surge in online orders

The coronavirus shows no regard for boundaries around the world.

Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China, has confirmed a total of 16 new cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, after its first new case was reported just two days before.

Fewer people are spotted on the streets as more locals are staying at home and turning to online purchasing for day-to-day supplies.

CGTN visited one of the biggest supermarkets in the city to see how people are coping.
