Monday marks the Kurdish New Year, or Newroz. But festivities will be muted in Turkey’s Kurdish southeast region. It’s the first Newroz since the end of the ceasefire between the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and the Turkish military, and clashes between the two sides have left many people homeless.
