There are increasing international calls for Israel to scale-back its assault on Gaza, including from its closest ally in Washington. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was in Tel Aviv today to talk to Israeli leaders about how they could better protect civilians in their war against Hamas — a group considered a terrorist organization by numerous countries. According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry, the death toll in Gaza has now surpassed 19,400 Palestinians.
