Global News published this video item, entitled “Ukraine says talks yielded progress on evacuation, but Russia says no positive developments yet” – below is their description.
A Ukrainian negotiator and adviser to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Monday that some progress had been made in discussions with Russia on agreeing to logistics for the evacuation of civilians. But he added that on a broader scale, talks remained inconclusive.
Mykhailo Podolyak said the two sides would continue talks on a ceasefire.
Russian negotiators however painted a bleaker picture, saying that they did not have positive developments to report and warned not to expect the next round to bring a final result.
Chief negotiator Vladimir Medinsky in discussing humanitarian corridors, blamed Ukraine’s forces on the ground, claiming they were ignoring orders which led to the Russian shelling on these corridors where refugees were meant to use to escape the fighting.
