Ukraine’s State Security Service has released footage that Kyiv says shows hitmen who have been arrested after they were hired by Russia to kill several people including top government officials. Ukrainian officials said the Russian military intelligence agency known as GRU had ordered them to assassinate Defence Minister Oleksii Reznikov, defence intelligence head Kyrylo Budanov and a Ukrainian activist. Neither the Russian government nor its state-run media have responded to the claims made as Ukraine released the video on August 8, 2022. The assertions have also not yet been independently verified. Kyiv also said the hitmen were offered US$100,000 to US$150,000 for each killing
