UK Covid-19: Keir Starmer calls on Boris Johnson’s government to apologise for pandemic handling

Daily Mail published this video item, entitled “UK Covid-19: Keir Starmer calls on Boris Johnson’s government to apologise for pandemic handling” – below is their description.

Sir Keir Starmer said today (Pictured visiting a training centre near Oldham, Greater Manchester) that Boris Johnson should bring forward the inquiry ‘just as quickly as possible’. A date for the Covid inquiry is yet to be set, although Boris Johnson has promised it will be launched by June next year. Labour had called for it to begin in June last year, or ‘as soon as all restrictions are lifted’. Dominic Cummings said today that the Prime Minister was a ‘joke’ in the wake of a devastating report laying bare No10’s failures throughout the pandemic. Speaking outside his home, the former special adviser said: ‘We have a joke Prime Minister and a joke leader of the Labour party, and we obviously need a new political system.’ The report published today revealed a catalogie of errors at the top of Government. The MPs said ministers were blinded by ‘groupthink’ among scientists. They also castigated the ‘chaotic’ performance of the £37billion test and trace system, and delays to locking down early. Minister Stephen Barclay refused to apologise for the failures 11 times today.
