Trudeau to attend vigil for 33rd anniversary of the École Polytechnique shooting tragedy | LIVE

Global News published this video item, entitled “Trudeau to attend vigil for 33rd anniversary of the École Polytechnique shooting tragedy | LIVE” – below is their description.

Tributes are planned Tuesday in Montreal to commemorate victims of the École Polytechnique shooting on the 33rd anniversary of the tragedy. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to attend.

On Dec. 6, 1989, a man motivated by a hatred of feminists shot and killed 14 female students and injured 13 other people at the Montreal engineering school.

At the end of the day — at 5:10 p.m., the time the first shots were fired — 14 beams will illuminate the sky above Mount Royal in memory of the women who lost their lives.

The anniversary of the École Polytechnique shooting also has come to light after Montreal Canadiens‘ goalie Carey Price spoke out on the weekend in an Instagram post against the current gun control debate in Ottawa.

In the post published Saturday, Price wrote in part: “I love my family, I love my country and I care for my neighbour. I am not a criminal or a threat to society. What Justin Trudeau is trying to do is unjust. I support the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights to keep my hunting tools.”
