The race to house Canberra’s booming population is putting pressure on the ‘bush capital’ | ABC News

The bush capital is getting bigger and some are wondering if that growth threatens the Canberra way of life.

One hundred thousand new homes will need to be built in Canberra over the next 20 years.

City planners want most of them to fall in existing urban areas, rather than release vast amounts of new land to accommodate the growth.

But what will the city look like? And is it the sort of city Canberrans want to live in?
