Syria: ISIS under siege in Manbij – BBC News

In Syria, an alliance of opposition forces is on the verge of taking back control of a key city from the so-called Islamic State group. Manbij, in the north of the country, is a crucial staging post on the group’s supply lines between the Turkish border and its headquarters in Raqqa. It’s currently encircled by Kurdish, Arab and Turkmen forces, with US backing. The BBC understands that British special forces are also on the ground. Our correspondent Jiyar Gol and producer Joe Inwood are the only international broadcasters to have gained access to this area. This is their exclusive report.
