Russia is seeking to overturn a ban against its athletes over allegations of doctoring laboratory data for doping at a four-day hearing at the Lausanne-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
It is a landmark legal case that could see Russian sportsmen and women prohibited from representing their country at the next two Olympic Games and four years of football world championships.
The CAS hearings will run until Thursday although a decision is not expected for several weeks
