Angry protestors have gathered outside court demanding justice for Brandy the cat that was allegedly stolen, tortured and killed by two boys in Glenwood.

So appalled by the attack some people even travelled from interstate to demand tougher sentences for animal abusers.

“We’re here today for justice for my Brandy-girl”, co-owner of brandy, Emily Bidart.

“It’s really scary actually, for such young kids”, co-owner of Brandy, Bianca Penfold, speaking outside court in Parramatta.

“We want harsher laws to be implemented to stop this from ever happening again“, Steph Gamage of Kitten Rescue Australia.

The petition calling for tougher animal cruelty laws – “Justice for Brandy The Senior Cat who was Tortured” – has more than 30,000 signatures.

“I’m really in disbelief about what has happened to this very old cat,” protester Karein Welford of Sydney Street Cats.

Co-owner of Brandy, Mario Bidart, says his family have been receiving messages of support from all over the world.
