A South Korean lawmaker from the country’s progressive Basic Income Party has triggered a debate about working female politicians and childcare, after bringing her newborn infant to the National Assembly. Yong Hye-in introduced a bill that would allow children under the age of two to enter the plenary hall, saying women should have the right to participate in politics as a mother and politician.
