Salah al-Din Road, with a total length of 45 kilometers, is the main north-south traffic route through the Gaza Strip. It has become a lifeline for Gazans. During the ceasefire, more than a million Palestinians in northern Gaza took Salah al-Din Road, fleeing from the north to southern Gaza. In most cases, it took them almost seven to eight hours to get to their destination.
